I hardly slept last night but I was expecting that. I just hope I don't fall asleep for a few days like I did last time I came to the USA. I can't afford the time. Although I've not started my ride yet I seem to have ridden for miles today. I am knackered so please forgive me if there are any mistakes, again.
I got up quite early today and wen to search for a camping and cycling shop, I found both. There were quite a few people on the streets when I was riding through, all of them seemed to be nutters. They must get up early....what am I saying, I was up early too...OK I agree I'm a nutter too. It was like Orford but with sunshine.
I managed to get tent and a sleeping bag, the guy congratulated me on choosing such quality items. I thought that I'd won a prize or something, you know, the one millionth customer or something. It turned out that was the 'American way' I prefer the tw**s who serve me at home at least you know they are genuine. Saying that I met some really nice people today there were a number of ladies who greeted me as I came back to my hotel early evening. They kept asking me if I wanted a fix....nothing was broken as far as I was concerned. Do you think they know something I don't. A funny thing happened. A police car approached and when I turned to where I'd come from not one lady was visable....perhaps they went to fix what was broke somewhere else.
I must say I like San Francisco, its a bit like Blackpool on speed. Like every city there are some beautiful places but there are some shi*holes too. Whatever you say about our national health and social care system it is a lot better than most....trust me.
I still don't know how I'm going to get out of the city. I asked a guy at the bike shop today and he suggested the train. I laughed, he wasn't kidding. The people over here have something in common with some people back home...they all think I'm a nutter....so?
I think I have everything now so it's off in the morning. I am not going to officially start from one particular point...what's the point?...clever play on words there. knackered but still clever....ish.
